I live a Shared Life.
My Shared Life informs my understanding of love, of patience, of honor and of commitment. My Shared Life is real, tangible, respectable. My Shared Life is a source of inspiration for my music.
Most of what is shared is the same, ordinary stuff that anyone shares with their husband or wife; some is boring, and some is song-worthy. But none of it is something that can be disbelieved, no more than I could disbelieve my grandparent’s life together, my neighbors life, or even yours.
I’m grateful that my music has touched so many of you. If you feel the message of love that you hear in my songs is something you can relate to, but you hold the belief that my Shared Life is somehow unworthy of recognition, I encourage you to pray and reflect on the fact that my understanding of that message of love came in large part from my living this Shared Life. If the message rings true to you, and yet our lives look different on the surface, perhaps there is cause to reconsider the notion that there is only one way for human beings to experience love.
I’m a little floored at how much is going on, and very, very grateful to everyone who’s been voicing their support - either here, or on my other sites. You’re enthusiasm and encouragement is making this whole experience that much richer!

And a totally unexpected, amazing thing that happened during this 1st week of 2010 was to find that my album made it to iTunes a few days early. How this happened, I’m not exactly sure. But needless to say, my fans were thrilled (as was I), and I’d like to thank the following iTunes users for your outstanding reviews:

This has been an amazing week! What a way to start out 2010!!!
I started 2009 off with a blog (remember Songcrafting?) and I shall end with a new one, As It Breaks.
From now until the Blue Moon I’ll post some of my favorite musical moments of 2009. I’ll share some links and videos you may have seen and some that I’ve only recently discovered. Please re-post them, share them on Facebook or Twitter, or just enjoy them yourself.
Then, come the dawn of 2010, I’ll start documenting the process of releasing When Everything Breaks Open, along with whatever new and unexpected creative projects await me. I have a feeling this next year is going to be one that brings monumental changes, and I invite you to join me on my little ride.
Peace and love to you,
Matt
